Entering addiction treatment is easily one of the biggest and most important decisions of your life. It’s also the one choice that’s guaranteed to provide a major payoff. However, while you wait to reap the rewards of recovery, you probably have a number of questions.
After all, your time in rehab will likely have an impact on your job, your family, and on many other aspects of your life. You may be wondering how you’ll pay for treatment, how long it will last, and even what to pack. The good news is that these are all normal concerns, and there’s plenty of support to get you through. Best of all, at Mississippi Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center, we’ve got the answers you need. Our goal is to make getting your recovery started as easy and hassle-free as it can possibly be.
What is the admissions process?
We have a dedicated team of qualified professionals who are ready to assist you with all aspects of the admissions process. Getting admitted into Mississippi Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center starts with a pre-intake phone call. This conversation will give us the chance to learn more about you, and to better define your treatment needs. During this call, we’ll ask questions about:
- Your current health
- Your medical history
- The type and amount of substances you’ve been using
- Your past recovery attempts
- Any known or suspected mental health disorders
and more. Pre-intake interviews are completely judgement-free. The more open and willing to share that you are; the easier it will be for our team to customize your care, and to make sure that you’re enrolled in the right program for optimizing your experience.
We offer a diverse range of treatment options including on-campus medical detox, inpatient addiction treatment, and outpatient treatment. Detox is usually the first step for most of our patients. Inpatient treatment typically follows detox. For those who need a balanced blend of both inpatient and outpatient care, we also have a partial hospitalization program (PHP).
Before your initial call is completed, we can also assist you in making travel arrangements. This is a great time to ask any questions about the items that you should and should not pack. We’ll go over our facility rules, and offer a brief overview of the different therapies, activities, and other services that you can expect.
Once you’re admitted, your care will start from the moment you arrive. You’ll be greeted by friendly, compassionate professionals in a warm, home-like setting. You’ll receive a comprehensive physical exam and a psychological evaluation. These assessments will help us administer the right treatments for minimizing your detox symptoms, and helping you achieve a stable, comfortable state.

How do I pay for addiction treatment?
The costs of rehab are undoubtedly the greatest barrier to treatment. “How much is addiction treatment?” and “How can I pay for addiction treatment” are two of the most commonly asked questions about rehab. Sadly, however, most people fail to receive treatment simply because they don’t fully explore their options in payment.
We accept most commercial insurance plans. We also accept cash, credit, and debit card payments, and in some instances, we are even willing to make reasonable payment plans. Given that rehab is an essential step towards reclaiming your physical, emotional, and financial health, we recommend leveraging all of the tools and resources at your disposal to get the help you need. No other investment that you make in life will prove more rewarding and worthwhile.
Most private-pay health insurance companies will cover some or all of policyholders’ addiction treatment fees. Depending upon your insurer and the type of policy you have, there may be limitations on which treatment centers you can choose, your length of stay, and the type of covered therapies and services you have access to. Our admissions counselors can review your plan information to help you determine how much of your care must be paid for out-of-pocket.
More often than not, patients are responsible for all plan deductibles that they have yet to meet, their co-payments, and certain prescription fees. You can also speak with your insurance company directly to ask questions about in-network providers, and to get a better understanding of what your policy will and will not pay.
How Long Is Treatment?
The length of your treatment will be determined by your addiction history, the type of substance(s) you’ve been using, and your individual needs. This will be determined by our clinical and medical staff.
In general, you can expect to spend between seven and 10 days in detox. During this time, you won’t be pressured to participate in individual or group counseling, or in any other in-depth aspects of addiction treatment. Your focus will be solely placed on ridding your body of substances, and making your way through the withdrawal period. No matter what program is right for you, you can be seamlessly transferred into your selected program once your detox is done.
Our inpatient addiction treatment lasts between 21 days and 90 days. 90-day or three-month stays are often best for those who’ve been using drugs or alcohol heavily for quite some time, and those who’ve been using highly addictive substances.
You can alternatively attend our intensive outpatient program. With these, you’ll spend as few as 9 hours each week taking part in on-campus activities. Once your daily or weekly commitment is fulfilled, you can use the remainder of your time to continue going to school or work, or spending time with and caring for your family.
We also offer daytime rehab in the form of a partial hospitalization program (PHP). With PHP, you can check in to our day center each morning, spend the duration of your day participating in therapy and other rehab activities, and check out each night to return home.
What should I bring to Treatment?
As with every addiction treatment center, we strive to maintain a safe, secure, and absolutely temptation-free environment. We work hard to ensure that our patients have everything they need for comfort and good health, right on campus. As such, there are several things that you should avoid packing when preparing for your stay. These include:
- Weapons of any type
- Offensive, suggestive, or otherwise inappropriate clothing
- Beauty, hygiene, or cosmetic products that contain alcohol
- Outside food
- Sporting equipment
- Linens and/or towels
Be sure to pack plenty of comfortable, relaxing clothes that you feel good in. We provide balanced and nutritious meals every day of the week. We also have a generous array of entertaining activities, stress management activities, and options in art therapy.
Patients are also allowed to use their cellphones and mobile devices while in treatment.
Recovery After Treatment
At Mississippi Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center, we’re proud to be one of a limited number of rehab centers that offers targeted, comprehensive post-treatment support. Our aftercare program is designed to make it easier for patients to transition back to their lives without experiencing relapse. These services align patients with supportive services like:
- Additional outpatient services
- Therapists who specialize in treating substance abuse
- Sober living environments
- Support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, SMART Recovery, faith-based groups, and more
and more. Our onsite therapists routinely interview our clients before the end of their inpatient or IOP services to learn more about their concerns and needs, and to help them establish feasible, manageable goals for the future. The information obtained in these interviews is then used to streamline aftercare support for optimum effectiveness.
