When it comes to mental health treatment, a comprehensive, individualized approach offers the best hope for long-term recovery. At Mississippi Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center, we offer a range of treatment programs in our home-like, intimate setting.
One of the services we offer is a patient-centered partial hospitalization program (PHP).
What is a Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)?
The Benefits of Mental Health Partial Hospitalization
During PHP treatment, individuals working toward recovery still enjoy the benefits of inpatient treatment without living on-site. This includes medical maintenance and behavioral therapy while having more schedule flexibility than inpatient or residential treatment. Think of it as a middle ground between outpatient care and full-time, supervised residential treatment.
If this seems like the right choice for you, you’ll still be able to sleep in your own home at night while getting full-time, hands-on help five days a week to overcome addictions.
Is Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Right for You?
It’s essential to make an informed decision about participating in a Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program. Remember that the goal of such programs is to provide intensive treatment, stabilize mental health conditions, and equip individuals with coping skills. If you or someone you know is in crisis or needs immediate assistance, please seek help from a mental health crisis hotline, a healthcare provider, or an emergency room. Ultimately, the decision should be made with the guidance of mental health professionals who can assess the individual’s unique situation and needs.
What to Expect During Treatment
In addition to schedule flexibility, our Partial Hospitalization Program includes robust treatment offerings. Below is a list of some of our services during treatment.
Individual counseling to help you work through any issues that contributed to your substance use disorder. This could include any unresolved trauma or childhood issues. You’ll also have a chance to discuss your hopes and future goals while mapping out a plan for successful, long-term recovery.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a core component of drug treatment. It’s meant to help you identify triggers and issues that tempt you to use and provide you with tools and techniques to overcome the compulsion to use in the future. You’ll also learn how to identify negative thought patterns and regulate your emotions through Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), a form of CBT.
Group therapy is a great way to gain support and understanding by interacting with individuals who share similar struggles. These sessions are moderated by a Masters-level therapist and provide an opportunity to develop positive relationships with others who are working toward sobriety.
Peer support groups are less formal than group or individual therapy. They provide an opportunity to discuss and resolve issues related to addiction in a more relaxed, casual setting.
Art therapy is a way that patients can use creativity to work through issues and express their emotions, positive or negative, in a safe, non-threatening manner.
Fitness and nutritional support are essential for promoting health and wellness during all phases of recovery. Addiction may have affected your health and physical condition. This component of your recovery is designed to provide you with the basis for better health and strength while you get back on track. Physical fitness also improves your emotional well-being, confidence, and mental focus.
